Privacy Policy
How the Dallas Children’s Chorus collects, uses, and protects information from visitors to this website.
Updated 9 October 2026
The Dallas Children’s Chorus (“DCC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) maintains this website primarily to share information about our programs, performances, and auditions, and to make it easy for prospective families, current families, and supporters to reach us. This Privacy Policy explains what information this website collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
It applies to dalcc.org and any pages we operate directly. It does not cover the practices of third-party sites we link to or embed content from — such as YouTube, social media platforms, or a payment processor — which are governed by their own privacy policies.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
We collect personal information only when you choose to provide it — e.g., by emailing or calling us, by submitting an audition inquiry, donation, or other request through this website, or by signing up for our email list. This may include your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and any details you include in your message, such as information about a prospective or current chorister.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider and any analytics tools we use may automatically collect some technical information about a visit, such as the date and approximate time, the pages viewed, the type of browser and device used, and a general, non-precise geographic region derived from your IP address. We use this information only in aggregate, to understand how the site is used and to improve it — not to identify individual visitors.
Children’s Privacy
The DCC is a choral organization for young singers, and many families who visit this site are here on behalf of a child. This website itself is intended for use by parents, guardians, and other adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through it. Any information about a chorister that we do collect — e.g., through an audition application, family portal, or enrollment paperwork — is collected from, or with the direct involvement and consent of, a parent or guardian, typically outside of this public website. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without a parent or guardian’s involvement, please contact us at chorus@dalcc.org and we will promptly delete it.
Photography, Recording, and Media Use
Rehearsals and performances are frequently photographed or recorded for use in our promotional materials, website, social media, and press coverage. Consent for the use of a specific chorister’s image, voice, or likeness is addressed separately, as part of our enrollment and registration process, rather than through this website. If you have questions about a specific photo or recording, please contact us directly.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to respond to your questions, process audition or program inquiries, process donations or ticket purchases (through a third-party payment processor, described below), send information you’ve requested about auditions, concerts, or schedule changes, send news and updates to people who have joined our email list, and improve this website. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except as described in this policy or as needed to provide the services you’ve requested — e.g., sharing payment details with a payment processor to complete a donation.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand in aggregate how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and how visitors find us. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to recognize repeat visits. We have turned off Google signals and ad personalization, so the data is not used for advertising, and we keep analytics data for 14 months. We do not send names, email addresses, or the contents of any form to Google Analytics, and we do not run analytics on the Family Portal. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we do not load Google Analytics for you. You can also opt out of Google Analytics on all websites with Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Pages with an embedded video (e.g., from YouTube) may also set cookies controlled by that provider, subject to its own privacy policy. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies; doing so may affect how some embedded content behaves, but should not affect your ability to read this website.
Third-Party Links and Services
This website links to, or embeds content from, services we don’t control, including YouTube and social media platforms, and may in the future include donation or ticketing platforms. When you follow one of these links or interact with embedded content, information about that visit may be collected by that third party under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review. If we add online donations or ticket purchasing, payment information will be handled directly by a reputable third-party payment processor; we do not store full credit card numbers on our own systems. If you join our email list, your email address is stored with us and with the email service provider we use to send our messages, which handles it on our behalf under its own privacy policy; we do not sell or rent our email list.
Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we collect, but no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices
You can ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you or a chorister in your care, request that we correct it, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us at chorus@dalcc.org. Every email newsletter we send includes an unsubscribe link, and if you receive any other email communications from us that you no longer wish to receive, let us know at that same address and we will remove you from that list.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our website and programs evolve. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision, and we encourage you to check back periodically.
